Enjoy your home more

"Making the best of it." This expression has a somewhat sad ring to it, but... what do you get when you literally make the best of something? Exactly, the best! And that's also true now that we're spending so many hours at home—not entirely voluntarily. Here are four tips to help you enjoy your home more, especially now that you're using it more.

Color your walls

Paint renews your home. Painting a wall is apparently very interesting psychologically. You make the same motion over and over (meditation!), and in the end, you have a beautiful result. Which color should you choose? One that makes you happy, like a shade of orange? Or a color that evokes peace and tranquility? Whatever you choose, you don't have to paint every wall. A single accent wall can also bring about change and renewal.

Buy art

If these are "strange times," it's a good time to buy something unique: a painting, a drawing, or a sculpture. Often, an original artwork also provides a starting point for a new color choice in the space you're renovating. The same goes for a distinctive rug on your floor. If it matches other elements in your interior, the space will take on a unique dynamic.

Vary your workspace

Having your own workspace is important. But it doesn't have to be your only workspace. Variety is key. Consider taking a section of the dining table for yourself and adding a lamp for extra light. Want to use your laptop on the balcony or in the garden? Go for it! Add a lounge blanket, a large mug of coffee or tea—there's nothing wrong with that.

Move your furniture and accessories

Don't spend much time in that club chair in the living room? Try placing it in a corner of your bedroom and create a quiet reading nook. Add a low table, books, and a decorative accessory, and you'll make full use of your home. Also, consider whether your seating should be oriented more towards the window and the light. A view of the outside world is important for keeping your spirits up!
